Manchester Pride 2024 LIVE updates as thousands head to city centre for huge parade and festival

The good vibes are set to be soaked up in spectacular style across the city centre today as Manchester Pride 2024 takes place for the first full day this year.

Having begun last night with performances from Jessie J, Gok Wan and The Greatest Showman star Keala Settle, one of the UK’s largest LGBTQ+ celebrations will continue today with the annual Pride parade through the city - set to begin at midday.

The parade will feature a series of floats as members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies march as part of the powerful rally for unison. This year’s parade will take on a ‘Buzzin’ To Be Queer’ theme paying homage to the spirit of the worker bee.

After the parade, there will be plenty of events, performances and festivities taking place across the city - including the Gay Village Party which will today feature the likes of Rita Ora, Eurovision legend Loreen and DJ Paulette, as well as drag performers, talent shows, and local musicians.

Alongside Manchester Pride, the city is expected to be busy with the Manchester City game as well as other Bank Holiday events taking place, including a string of music and food festivals like Den Fest, Mani Fest and Festa Italiano.

There will also be people travelling to and from Moovin Festival in Stockport, the Bolton Food and Drink Festival and the New Order gig at Wythenshawe Park.
