'Manager's dream' - Darren Moore shares positive injury update on key Sheffield Wednesday man
Striker Lee Gregory could make his Sheffield Wednesday return later this week.
The 33-year-old has missed the Owls' last seven matches due to a foot injury he sustained against Oxford United on January 22.
Gregory, who has chipped in with eight goals and five assists this season, watched on from the directors' box as Wednesday eased to a 2-0 victory over Charlton Athletic yesterday. He has been ruled out of Tuesday's clash with Burton Albion but manager Darren Moore has not ruled out the possibility of including Gregory in his first-team squad for the trip to Lincoln City next weekend.
Moore told Yorkshire Live: "Tuesday will come too soon for Lee Gregory but let’s see for Saturday. Lincoln could be more of a shout."
The Owls are still without a number of forwards due to injury.
It remains a mystery when Josh Windass will next be available for selection. He is nursing a hamstring problem and has not featured since the 2-0 triumph over Morecambe at the start of the month.
"He is not back in training," said Moore. "He is still working hard. In terms of the medical route where he is, he is always advancing a long but he is not back out there.
"I'm not sure when he is going to be back. I don't want to put a timescale on him. If he does recover quicker, we will get him back quicker. He is doing extremely well at the moment."
Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules (quad) is unlikely to be fit until the final month of the regular league season.
Wednesday have recorded six wins from their last seven matches to move back into the League One play-offs. Defenders Lewis Gibson and Dominic Iorfa were named on the bench versus Charlton, having shrugged off their respective injuries.
Moore said: "We are getting players out of the
