Man Utd: Ten Hag agreed transfer targets with key figures at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag discussed all summer transfer decisions with key figureheads at Old Trafford, including John Murtough and Richard Arnold, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Ten Hag was handed more than £200 million to bolster his first-team squad ahead of last month’s deadline after being appointed manager in the North West.

The headline recruit of the Red Devils’ transfer window was Ajax forward Antony, with £86 million splashed on the Brazil international.

The 22-year-old was not the only star signed from Ten Hag’s former club, as Lisandro Martinez joined to bolster his defensive options, while Tyrell Malacia made the move from Feyenoord.

A new midfield recruit was high on the agenda throughout the summer and they managed to tempt Real Madrid ace Casemiro to Old Trafford. Christian Eriksen also arrived on a free transfer.

United rounded off their transfer business on deadline day with the loan signing of Martin Dubravka from Newcastle United.

Sheth understands that each signing made by United was discussed with Murtough, Arnold and the club’s transfer committee.

The Sky Sports reporter adds that the Red Devils ultimately came to the correct decision on each of their recruits.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “All the information that we're getting is that the players that Erik ten Hag wanted were discussed with the technical committee, with John Murtough, with Richard Arnold, with Darren Fletcher, and those were the right players that came in. I think the majority of the signings that he's made, United fans have been very, very pleased with.”
