Man Utd's Champions League win v Bayern in 1999: Never-before-seen footage emerges

May 26, 1999, will always be one of the most special nights in Manchester United’s history.

The Red Devils looked down and out going into stoppage-time of their Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian giants led 1-0 with minutes of the game remaining and it looked as if they would be crowned champions of Europe for the fourth time.

But United pulled off an incredible late comeback.

United were given a corner in the 91st minute. United sent forward Pater Schmeichel forward in desperation.

And they managed to level proceedings as Teddy Sheringham poked home from close range.

Almost immediately after the restart, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were given another corner.

Beckham swung the ball in, Sheringham nodded the ball towards goal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned the ball home to give United the victory.

Twitter user @iamcoxhead’s father was at Camp Nou and witnessed his side defy the odds to win the title.

He recorded the final five minutes of the game and, 23 years on from the final, the footage has been released for the first time.

The footage is so wild it’s gone viral and you can view it below…
