Manchester United have reportedly suffered a blow to their hopes of signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong this summer.
The Red Devils are set to begin a huge overhaul of the playing squad when new manager Erik ten Hag arrives at the club. Midfield is seen as a priority area for improvement, but it appears their top target De Jong would prefer to stay at Barcelona.
It comes as Ruben Neves dropped a hint that he could be set to leave Wolves this summer as he burst into tears after their final home match of the season. And United have reportedly started working on a deal to bring Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Old Trafford.
