Man Utd hero working with Ralf Rangnick's blessing to solve dressing room tensions

Manchester United technical director Darren Fletcher is reportedly acting as a peacekeeper between Ralf Rangnick and his players in a bid to get the club back on track.

Reports of disharmony in the United dressing room continue to make the headlines of late given the club’s struggles on the pitch.

But in a bid to keep the Red Devils on track for a top-four finish, The Sun say Fletcher has been trying to keep the peace between Rangnick’s staff and the players.

The German boss is said to be frustrated at the squad failing to grasp his high-pressing tactics quickly with the players not buying into his coaching methods.

Fletcher, who spent 12 years as a player at Old Trafford, is highly respected at the club and in the dressing room and is now doing his best to ensure the relationship doesn’t turn sour.

The Scot has Rangnick’s blessing to help with his own work in trying to get his tactics across to the players while ensuring tensions don’t continue to mount.

Fletcher has his work cut out though given United’s humiliating 4-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

In the wake of the defeat at the Etihad, reports emerged suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo had jetted off to Portugal with an injury after Rangnick opted not to start him, while Marcus Rashford is reportedly considering his future due to a lack of playing time.

Fletcher’s former teammate Gary Neville did not hold back on his views of United’s performance on Sunday.
