Man Utd fight off Premier League threat to go into ‘pole position’ for Victor Osimhen, with star ‘made available’
Manchester United are reportedly in ‘pole position’ to sign Victor Osimhen after the striker was ‘made available’ for transfer by Napoli.
The Red Devils already have Cristiano Ronaldo as their main option in the centre of attack. But with the Portugal legend now 37 years old, work needs to be done to find a successor.
Plus, backup striker Edinson Cavani is on the verge of leaving Manchester United as a free agent this summer.
Osimhen would be a great signing for the Red Devils, given his top scoring record in Serie A. The Nigerian has found the net 18 times in 31 matches this season.
Of course, Osimhen may need time to adapt to the English game. He has previously played in Germany, France and now Italy, among other leagues.
But the attacker clearly has the eye for goal which could make him a huge hit in the Premier League.
United recently opened discussions with Osimhen over a move to Old Trafford. They are willing to pay an astonishing £85million to sign him, while also offering the 23-year-old a five-year deal worth £146,000 each week.
Sport Witness, who cite Italian outlet La Repubblica, provide an update on United’s hunt for Osimhen.
