Man Utd: £63m star now 'staying put' at Old Trafford

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will stay at Old Trafford this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The £63m-rated attacker’s future at his boyhood club has been in doubt in recent months, although Talbot is confident the 24-year-old will not be leaving in the upcoming window.

Rashford, who’s scored 93 goals for the Red Devils, endured a testing season at United, particularly under Ralf Rangnick.

He started only six Premier League games in 2022 and was left particularly upset when he was overlooked for the Manchester derby defeat in early-March, even though both Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo were unavailable.

As a result, Rashford started to consider his future at United having become ‘increasingly frustrated‘ following his lack of opportunities under the German.

But Rashford’s form wasn’t doing himself any favours, with the England international scoring just five goals, although injuries restricted him to just 32 games in all competitions.

However, according to the Telegraph, the forward, who is expected to undergo some warm weather training ahead of pre-season in a bid to impress incoming manager Erik ten Hag, wants to stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer and ‘hit the ground running’.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m told Rashford is staying put. There was definite interest from Bayern Munich, who were trying to bring him in.

“I think with Rashford there was interest because he is a big name, he’s still a young talent, but I think his heart is at Manchester United. There’s something symbolic about his name and Manchester United and the fact he’s a local lad, so I imagine he’ll be staying.”
