Man United wonderkid sends clear Ruben Amorim reminder as academy teammate trains with first team

Manchester United prodigy Gabriele Biancheri scored a hat-trick for Wales' under-19s as they thrashed Liechtenstein 5-0 on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old notched three goals in 10 second-half minutes to help his side claim a valuable three points in their European Championship qualification campaign. Biancheri, who joined United from Cardiff City in February 2023, has been in blistering form for both the under-18s and under-21s this season, scoring 13 goals in 12 appearances.

Such impressive finishing will only help Biancheri's chances of breaking into the first-team in the years ahead, as he will hope to catch the eye of head coach Ruben Amorim, who has a proven track record of giving youngsters an opportunity to impress. The 39-year-old joined the club last week from Sporting CP and will oversee his first Premier League game at Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon when United visit Portman Road.

Amorim has already taken charge of his first training session as United head coach, handing young academy talents Jim Thwaites and Godwill Kukonki an opportunity to impress with the first-team. Biancheri will be hoping word of his international exploits gets back to the new head coach.

United are currently 13th in the Premier League table, having won just four of the opening 11 games of the new season. However, they were unbeaten under the watch of interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who took to the dugout for games against Chelsea and Leicester City.
