Man United vs Middlesbrough: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results

Manchester United return to action on Friday night with an FA Cup clash against Middlesbrough.

While, on paper, it’s a fairly favourable fixture, Ralf Rangnick has struggled to wholly convince at Old Trafford. Prior to the recent international break, his team did appear to be building somewhat of a head of steam, although there were large patches of their consecutive wins against Brentford and West Ham that flattered to deceive.

Still, the FA Cup is perhaps the most realistic of trophies United can win this season. While they remain in the Champions League, little about their performances this season suggest they are ready to conquer in Europe. Winning the world’s oldest cup competition and finishing in the top four might yet save this season from being an utter write off.

Standing in their way, however, are a Boro side reborn under Chris Wilder. One of the most upwardly mobile sides in the Championship since his appointment, they’re not to be taken lightly.

The FA Cup game is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Friday February 4. 2022.

Old Trafford in Manchester will host.

TV channel: The game will be broadcast on ITV 1 and STV 1.

Live stream: Both the BBC iPlayer and the STV Player will provide live streams.

LIVE coverage: Follow all of the action through Standard Sport’s LIVE match blog.

Paul Pogba could make his long-awaited return to action when Manchester United play Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Friday night.

Pogba has not played since November due to a thigh injury but Ralf Rangnick has confirmed the midfielder is available for the fourth-round tie at Old Trafford.

After having a deadline-day exit blocked by United, Jesse Lingard will not feature after being granted some time off to “clear his mind”.
