Manchester United will be targeting a return to winning ways when they welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford for their final home game of the season this evening.

United suffered a 14th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday, losing 1-0 at home to Arsenal. It marked a second successive reverse and a third game without a victory.

The Reds are currently eighth in the standings, three points behind Newcastle, and the face the prospect of recording their lowest-ever Premier League finish. United have never finished lower than seventh in the Premier League era.

Such is the small difference in point between the two clubs, United know they need to win to keep their hopes of securing European qualification via their league position alive. They do, however, have an alternative route into Europe via the FA Cup.

United are poised to welcome Lisandro Martinez back into the fold this evening after more than a month on the sidelines with a calf problem. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford could also return.
