Man United star Kobbie Mainoo confirms brand new bumper deal as stunning rise continues

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has confirmed that he has signed with sportswear giants Nike.

It is the biggest deal of the teenager's career to date. Having played a key part in England's run to the European Championship final earlier this summer, as well as scoring in United's FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, Mainoo has been spending time on other ventures ahead of the new football season.

He is yet to start training again with his boyhood side but has nevertheless been close to his teammates in America. As opposed to preparing under Erik ten Hag in the States, Mainoo has been relaxing in Los Angeles, where United have largely been based.

He is expected to do join up with the squad next week, but in the meantime, Mainoo has been furthering his prospects off the field. In a wordless Instagram post on Saturday, he showed images of penning his contract with Nike under the words 'Welcome Kobbie'.

Mainoo also posed in the centre of a pitch with the Nike tick logo and 'LA' written underneath as a promotion for this huge deal. He has also been snapped whilst walking around the headquarters.

Although Mainoo is not donning Nike gear in every image, he is now set to show off the global giants. United, meanwhile, are currently sponsored by Nike's rivals, Adidas, who manufacture their kits.

Mainoo has shown off Nike before, appearing at a photo shoot in June to kickstart the partnership. ”[It’s] a dream come true,” he said at the time. ”To finally sign with them is great.” Now he has made the collaboration official.
