Man United star Harry Maguire breaks silence on injury blow with four-word promise
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has revealed he will be sidelined for a few weeks after being forced off against Aston Villa.
The 31-year-old couldn't continue after picking up a foot injury in the first-half of Sunday's goalless draw. The centre-back suffered the problem on the stroke of half-time and was replaced by Matthijs de Ligt during the interval.
Maguire was the hero on Thursday night after he was introduced as a late substitute by Erik ten Hag with United chasing the game against FC Porto in the Europa League. The Portuguese giants had already clawed back from two goals down before getting their noses in front on the hour mark.

The former captain was named as a starting centre-back alongside veteran Jonny Evans, who was named player of the match at Villa Park, but his involvement in the Midlands was cut-short. Maguire wasn't selected by Lee Carsley for the upcoming England internationals but he would have been forced to withdraw and confirmed his spell on the sidelines on Instagram.
"Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline but I'll come back stronger," he wrote.
Reports suggested that Maguire left Villa Park wearing a protective boot but there was an implication that it was a calf problem.
Speaking after the goalless draw, Ten Hag failed to be drawn on the matter and said he will await the results before making a further comment. The 54-year-old said: "We have to take them off at half-time. Tomorrow we have to see what is the diagnosis on it."
