Man United's Alejandro Garnacho sparks Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo row with Instagram post

Alejandro Garnacho has reignited the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate on Instagram following his latest story post.

The 17-year-old forward took to the social media platform to send his best wishes to Messi on his 35th birthday. In the story post, Garnacho shared a picture of himself with the former Barcelona ace with a goat emoji at the bottom.

Goat emojis are often used to symbolise the acronym GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) in the sporting world. Garnacho met the Barca legend while on international duty with Argentina earlier this year.

However, Garnacho does have a deep fondness for Manchester United forward Ronaldo, who he has spent time with during the domestic season. Last week he shared a cropped image of Ronaldo and Messi to his social media account which left many scratching their heads as it had no caption.

However, what is clear is that Garnacho holds both players in very high esteem and will be refusing to pick a side in this debate any time soon.
