Man United player closing in on transfer exit to EFL club

Man United are prepared to send Nathan Bishop out on another deal to an EFL side this summer according to Football Insider, with Wycombe the lucky recipients of the goalkeeper.

The Red Devils are a club with history of producing talented youngsters in their academy and one name who has already spent plenty of time around the Football League – and has been in-demand – is Nathan Bishop.

Unlike other youngsters though, Bishop was signed from Southend at a young age, with the hopes of the club continuing his development and ultimately reaping the rewards of his potential. He played 31 games in three seasons with the side despite being in his teens and was then snapped up by the Old Trafford outfit.

The 22-year-old has yet to play a single league game for United though since his move and has instead had to make do with loan deals to get back into his competitive action. Last season, he spent time in League Two with Mansfield for example.

With the fourth tier outfit, he was their number one option in goal and played in all 46 league games, conceding just 52 times as the club battled at the top end of the division. Now, it looks like he will be given a chance to shine a league higher with Wycombe, who seemingly now have a deal in place to snap up Bishop on a short-term basis.

Wycombe are, of course, on the hunt for a new shot-stopper having seen some of their own options depart this summer. Now, the 22-year-old seems as though he will become the number one option at a third tier club after doing so with Mansfield in the last campaign.
