R’s in Anjorin transfer battle

It has been reported that the Londoners are one of several Championship clubs who are showing an interest in Chelsea attacking midfielder Tino Anjorin.

The 20-year-old spent the second part of the previous campaign on loan at Huddersfield but fitness issues meant he didn’t make the impact he would’ve wanted.

Nevertheless, the England youth international is highly thought of and if the R’s see off interest from Coventry, Norwich and the Terriers it will be seen as a real coup.

Willock fitness update

Chris Willock scored seven goals and registered 11 assists for the R’s from 35 games last season, so his quality is clear to see and the 24-year-old will expect to be an important figure under the new boss.

But, there were fears he would miss the start of the new campaign as he recovers from the serious hamstring injury that he picked up in March.

However, in an encouraging update, Beale said that the first game of the season against Blackburn is a realistic target, even if Willock is likely to be eased into full fitness.
