Update provided over Portsmouth transfer deal for 28-year-old

Portsmouth supporters will be delighted to hear that the club have finally added a new forward to their ranks in Joe Pigott – and the East Anglian Daily Times is reporting that the club won’t lose him to his parent side at all this season.

Some transfer dealings that take place involving loan transfers nowadays tend to include a clause that allows a parent club to bring the on-loan player back to the side during a campaign.

Usually, that means that the winter transfer window is a nervy time for clubs when players could be recalled. However, some good news for Pompey is that with their new signing Joe Pigott, they will not face losing him during the course of the season.

That’s because there is reportedly no recall clause in the deal – and that means if the 28-year-old starts firing in the goals at Fratton Park, they do not need to worry about Ipswich taking him away from them.

The forward played 22 times for the Tractor Boys in the league last season but only ten of those came as starts in that division. That produced just one goal for the attacker and he will be hoping that a loan move elsewhere – and more gametime – could lead to a better output.

Prior to his time with Ipswich in League One for example, he managed 45 games for Wimbledon and bagged a superb haul of 20 goals and four assists. That’s an average of 0.56 goals or assists per 90.

Danny Cowley then will be delighted if he can reproduce that kind of form in his new deal – and if he does, they clearly won’t need to fear losing the player midway through his deal.
