Man United news LIVE: Ruben Amorim decision, Viktor Gyokeres message, Ruud van Nistelrooy theory
Ruben Amorim has arrived in Manchester as he looks to get Manchester United back to the top of European and domestic football.
The new Reds boss began his tenure on Monday, although he will not be able to oversee training while his visa is being approved. It is expected that this will be sorted by next week.
Amorim's backroom staff will be confirmed in due course after several of his Sporting CP coaches were seen on the flight from Lisbon on Monday. However, Ruud van Nistelrooy will not be part of his team.
The Dutchman was told that his time at United would end, with Amorim not offering him a role. Just 24 hours earlier, the former Reds striker had led United to a 3-0 victory over Leicester City.
Van Nistelrooy, who was appointed as assistant coach by Erik ten Hag this summer, remained unbeaten in his four games as interim boss.

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Ruben Amorim's decision to dismiss Ruud van Nistelrooy could potentially upset players and fans.
Van Nistelrooy, who took charge of four matches as interim manager after Erik ten Hag was sacked, was informed on Monday that his services were no longer needed. Despite performing well in his role, winning three games and drawing one while Amorim concluded his tenure at Sporting Lisbon, the former United striker's return to the club was short-lived.
Amorim arrived in Manchester on Monday with his coaching team from Sporting, ready to take the reins at United. He personally informed Van Nistelrooy of his decision and is now preparing for his first match in charge, an away game against Ipswich on November 24.
