Man United dressing room concern about Ruben Amorim revealed as £42m-star makes honest claim
Matthijs de Ligt has admitted he does not know a great deal about new Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim as the club enters a new era under the former Sporting CP head coach. The 39-year-old started his new role on Monday after leaving Sporting, where he led the Portuguese outfit to two league titles in four-and-a-half years.
Amorim replaces Erik ten Hag, who was let go last month after a disappointing start to the season. Ruud van Nistelrooy, who won't be part of the new head coach's backroom staff, went unbeaten as caretaker manager, restoring positivity at the club.
De Ligt, who joined United from Bayern Munich this summer for £42m, started three of the interim boss' games, but he's aware that nothing is set in stone under a new manager - and he'll have to wait and see whether he emerges as a major part of his new coach's plans or not. Speaking to Viaplay following the Red Devils' 3-0 win over Leicester City at the weekend, the defender was brutally honest.

"I don't know much about him yet, but I do know that he did a good job at Sporting," said De Ligt, as quoted by the Mirror. "With a new coach, it's always a bit of a wait and see. You have to do your very best and remain yourself."
De Ligt will have just under two weeks to impress Amorim, with United's next game not until November 24 when they face newly-promoted Ipswich Town. The defender will hope to make a good impression over the international break when the Netherlands face Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Nations League.
