Man United behind-closed-doors friendly result revealed as Harry Maguire explains failed move
Plenty of Manchester United players have headed off for international duty this week as Erik ten Hag gets straight back to work at Carrington.
United arrested their recent slump by beating Brentford 2-1 thanks to a dramatic added-time brace from Scott McTominay. Victory eased the pressure on Ten Hag and the players, but the performance still left a lot to be desired.
McTominay was one of 16 Reds to join up with their compatriots for the international break, with a number of injured players hoping to use a fortnight off to recover. United have a trip to Sheffield United to prepare for and will hope to use Saturday's win to kickstart their campaign.

Barnsley friendly
United beat Barnsley 3-0 in a friendly at Carrington on Tuesday, with several first-team players short of minutes featuring against the League One club.
The behind-closed-doors game saw United take on a Barnsley side that was also made up of fringe players, and it was the Premier League outfit who ran out comfortable winners.
Donny van de Beek and Antony both started the game, with the latter building up his match fitness ahead of a possible return to the starting XI against Sheffield United after the international break.

Maguire on West Ham move
Harry Maguire has dismissed claims he turned down a move to West Ham in the summer transfer window because they were not a big enough club for him.
The 30-year-old could have joined David Moyes' side at the end of last season but remained at United, where he chose to fight for his
