Man's face slashed in sickening attack in Oldham village

A man's face was slashed in a vicious attack in Saddleworth. Officers were called to reports of a knife attack on High Street, Uppermill, at around 8.35pm on Friday (July 19).

The Manchester Evening News understands the incident happened near The Granby Arms.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to his face. His wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, according to Greater Manchester Police. No arrests have been made.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said said: "At around 8.35pm last night (Friday 19 July 2024), we were called to reports of a stabbing outside a business premises on High Street, Uppermill in Oldham.

"It has been established that a man was slashed and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to his face that are not described as life-threatening. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
