Man found dead on M60 motorway during rush-hour

The body of a man was found on the M60 during rush-hour this morning.

Police were called to the scene on the motorway between junction eight and junction nine, near Carrington and Trafford Park, at around 8am today (April 4). Officers responded to 'reports of concern for the welfare of a man'.

Tragically, the man was pronounced dead on the scene. Forensic officers were then called to the scene to carry out investigations.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage. In a statement, the force spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police were called to the M60 between Junction 8 and 9 at around 8am this morning (Thursday 4 April 2024) to reports of the concern for the welfare of a man.

"Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing at this time but there is believed to be no suspicious circumstances."
