Man found dead inside car by police in moorland village is named

A man who was discovered dead inside a car by police has been named.

A body was found inside a car in the moorland village of Lydgate in Saddleworth on March 17. The discovery was made by police, who say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The man has been named as Terence Irving. Rochdale Coroners' Court has confirmed a file has been passed to the coroner.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly after 6.15pm on Friday, March 17, GMP were called to concerns for welfare of a man in a vehicle on Quick Road, Lydgate. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death, but it is not believed to be suspicious."
