Man City will 'miss out' on Barcelona wonderkid and other transfer rumours
Manchester City have been told that they will 'miss out' on Barcelona wonderkid Gavi, after reports emerged that they were interested in making a move for him.
Despite being just 17, Gavi has already established himself as a first-team regular at Camp Nou. The central midfielder has made 36 appearances so far this season, scoring two goals and recording five assists.
According to Shoot (via 90min ), Pep Guardiola's side and Liverpool are interested in the Spaniard but they are both set to miss out on his services. It is believed that Gavi will soon sign a new long-term contract with the Catalan club.

His current deal runs out in 2023 and it is thought that a new contract will include a £1billion release clause. Elsewhere, City are expected to be in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur for another teenage prodigy.
The Sun reports that 15-year-old Derby County goalkeeper Jack Thompson has caught the eye of both Spurs and the Blues. Thompson has already represented England at U15 and U16 level.
The Rams' current financial situation is likely to prevent them from commanding a huge fee for the youngster. Chelsea are also said to be keen on the goalkeeper but their own ownership troubles may prevent them from signing him.
