Manchester United told Christopher Nkunku asking price and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have learned that it would cost them £52million to sign Christopher Nkunku in the summer, according to reports.

United are set for a massive summer with Erik ten Hag in line to take over as manager and the Dutchman will have a big job on his hands in turning the squad around. Much of that will start in the transfer market and, while signing a midfielder is the biggest priority and a new centre-back is also being targeted, United will have to replenish their attacking options.

Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are all set to leave for nothing when their contracts expire at the end of the season and questions also remain over the futures of Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Martial and even Marcus Rashford. Reinforcements in forward areas will be a necessity which had led to the links with RB Leipzig's Nkunku.

After showing his talent in the Bundesliga over the last two seasons, the thrilling Frenchman has enjoyed a breakout campaign this term and has notched a staggering 30 goals and 19 assists. That includes a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League as well as strikes against Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.

SportBILD report that while Leipzig hope to keep hold of their starman, with club executive Oliver Mintzlaff declaring he will 'play for us next season,' Nkunku could be sold if the right offer is made. It's reported that the 24-year-old is not priceless and that they would be willing to sell if their £52million asking price is met.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough are interested in Dean Henderson, according to The Sun.
