Manchester United target Antony 'makes decision' on future and other transfer rumours
The impending arrival of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United has been accompanied by reports suggesting the 52-year-old could decide to bring a number of Ajax players with him to Old Trafford.
One of the names most frequently touted is Antony, who has enjoyed a successful season. The winger, who has netted 12 times and recorded 10 assists this term, is said to be one of Ten Hag ’s favourites.
He is reportedly targeting Antony as one of his first signings as United manager. The 22-year-old Brazilian still has three years left on his deal but reports from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf (via Metro ) suggest he could make an early exit.

It claims that Antony wishes to ‘take the next step in his career’, which would mean leaving the Netherlands. His arrival at United would provide competition for Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford with the hope that the trio would be spurred on by the risk of losing game-time to the new arrival.
Meanwhile, Sport reports that Barcelona are bracing themselves for a bid for Frenkie de Jong when Ten Hag takes the reins at United. It claims the Dutchman will be given just north of £200m for transfers this summer and may wish to rekindle ties with the former Ajax midfielder.
De Jong won Eredivisie player of the year in the 2018-19 season under Ten Hag as the club made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League. The playmaker has been an important cog in Xavi’s revitalisation of Barcelona this season and has played 42 games this season across all competitions.
