Man City vs Manchester United live FA Cup final updates plus early team news and how to watch

It took 142 years for Manchester United and Manchester City to meet in an FA Cup final and now the fixture will be played for a successive season.

The two Manchester clubs have reached the final of England's oldest cup competition again and City are hoping to retain the trophy after winning 2-1 in last year's final.

City have won against Huddersfield, Tottenham, Luton Town, Newcastle and Chelsea to progress to the FA Cup final, showing impressive resilience and determination to prevail in the semi-final, which came just days after Real Madrid knocked them out of Europe.

United have beaten Wigan Athletic, Newport County, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Coventry and their last two wins on the way to the Wembley final were chaotic.

Pep Guardiola's side have won the last three meetings between City and United and the Reds are approaching the FA Cup final as underdogs again. There is also the obvious subplot that Erik ten Hag could manage United for the final time on Saturday afternoon.

Regarding the team news, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and Mason Mount could return to the United squad, but Harry Maguire has been ruled out of the clash through injury.

City have no fresh injury concerns but will be without goalkeeper Ederson, already confirmed to be absent with a fractured eye socket picked up against Tottenham recently.
