Man City tour diary as extreme heat warning issued plus De Bruyne and Ake latest

It was another warm welcome for Man City as they arrived in South Korea, in more ways than one.

Thousands of fans flocked to the airport to catch a glimpse of the squad as they touched down for the final stage of their pre-season tour, but things were about to heat up even more.

The weather has been a constant talking point across the last week and things turned up a notch in Seoul with two public health alerts sent to our phones to warn us of the extreme heat.

It will be interesting to see how that affects the state of play tomorrow, as Guardiola looks to gradually build up fitness ahead of the new season, without taking any unnecessary risks.

There is some early team news with Nathan Ake easing his injury concerns ahead of the Community Shield when he spoke to us last, while Kevin De Bruyne could feature on Sunday night as he steps up his injury comeback.

For those of you desperate for transfer news, you’ll be glad to know we saw a German scout at the airport, and then about a thousand others. Our trip to the South Korean capital has coincided with the 25th World Scout Jamboree, which has made for a pretty surreal experience.

Amongst the arrivals there has been a departure though, with Riyad Mahrez’s transfer to Saudi Arabia confirmed yesterday. It will be interesting to hear what Pep has to say about him at his press conference later on, and how he intends to replace him ahead of the new season.

It looks like it will be a busy final two days before City fly home, with another exciting sit down interview organised for the Manchester pack of reporters and the final game against Atletico Madrid on the horizon.
