Man City told 'mouthwatering' trio they can deploy after Erling Haaland transfer

David James believes the prospect of Erling Haaland playing alongside Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva is 'mouthwatering.'

Before they had even secured their fourth Premier League title in five years, Manchester City stole a march on their rivals by announcing they had agreed a deal to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian sensation will cost the Blues approximately £86million once agent fees and bonuses are added to a £51million fee.

Haaland arrived in Manchester on Monday to finalise the switch and the 21-year-old could be officially unveiled as a City player this week, completing the move of the transfer window before it has even opened. He scored a remarkable 86 goals in just 89 games in Germany and former goalkeeper James can't wait to see him in action alongside City's stars.

"Wow, this is the signing," he told the Manchester Evening News. "I think for a while it was between Haaland and [Kylian] Mbappe, who was going to be the next big thing.
