Man City's 'stance' on selling Bernardo Silva amid Barcelona interest and more transfer rumours

Manchester City have told Bernardo Silva they do not intend to sell him this summer, according to reports.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been at City since 2017, when he was purchased from French side Monaco. It has been a collective and individual success since then for both parties.

Portuguese midfielder Bernardo has won five Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups and the Champions League with City. He won the Treble with Pep Guardiola's side last season in an historic achievement.

However, speculation has surrounded Bernardo's future at City for the past couple of summers. Barcelona has been tipped as having an interest in him, where he could now reunite with former City captain Ilkay Gundogan.

Bernardo has two years left on his deal at the Etihad Stadium. It means City are not under any immediate pressure to sell the midfielder and do not risk him leaving for nothing next summer.

And now, according to 90min, City have told Bernardo that they do not intend to sell him this summer to another team. Guardiola's side are prepared to dig in their heels and turn down any approach which is made for his services.

Elsewhere, City's pursuit of RB Leipzig's Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol is continuing. The sticking point over the deal for the 21-year-old seems to be the price and the structure of any deal to take him to the Etihad Stadium.

Now, according to German publication Bild, Leipzig are seeking €100m for the defender and include realistic add-ons in the deal. However, City are said to have offered €90m for the defender, while the add-ons are described by the publication as "unrealistic", though a deal can still be reached.
