Kylian Mbappe 'pushing' PSG to sign Bernardo Silva and more Man City transfer rumours

Kylian Mbappe is said to be 'pushing' for Paris Saint-Germain to sign Manchester City star Bernardo Silva this summer.

Mbappe's announcement in June that he would not extend his contract - currently expiring next summer - sent shockwaves through the footballing world, with PSG insisting he would be sold this summer. The French forward claimed he would run down his deal, eventually leaving for free.

Talks have resumed this week and Mbappe, happy with the return of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to the negotiating table, is now open to extending his stay. According to French outlet Foot Mercato, he is now desperate for the club to make a move for Bernardo.

The Portuguese midfielder's future at City remains uncertain and he has made no secret of his desire to weigh up options. He forged a brilliant relationship with Mbappe when the pair were at Monaco, and the striker is keen to reunite in Paris.

Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that there is 'optimism' Barcelona will sign Joao Cancelo after positive talks were held on Saturday.

Cancelo is another whose future in Manchester remains up in the air following his shock loan exit to Bayern Munich in January. The full-back has returned to City but was not involved in Friday's win at Burnley.

Xavi has long had Cancelo at the top of his list of potential transfers, with Barcelona in need of reinforcements at full-back. Talks are said to be centred around a season-long loan that will include an option to buy next summer.

Cancelo is reportedly happy to take a pay cut in order to facilitate any move to Camp Nou, with Barcelona still struggling to balance their books.
