West Ham United 'set Lucas Paqueta price tag and deal structure' plus more Man City transfer rumours

West Ham United want at least £80m upfront if they are to sell midfielder Lucas Paqueta to Manchester City, according to reports.

City have added to their central midfield department already this summer. Mateo Kovacic has joined from Chelsea for an initial £25m deal.

Reinforcements were needed after captain Ilkay Gundogan departed earlier in the summer for Barcelona. The German international moved on a free transfer upon the expiry of his deal at the Etihad Stadium.

There have been more outgoings than incomings so far this summer at Pep Guardiola's side, with RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol recently becoming acquisition number two for the Blues.

But Guardiola's side are still trying to get more business done ahead of the transfer window coming to a close at the start of September. Central midfield is an area they are targeting for more bodies.

City are exploring a potential move for Paqueta. The Brazil international only joined the London side last summer as their record signing.

Football Insider now reports that West Ham will demand an upfront fee of at least £80m from City for Paqueta's services. Reports in Brazil suggest a bid of £70m has already been lodged, but it appears the Hammers will want at least £10m more on top of that.

The same publication also reports that City aim to fund Paqueta's signing by bringing in up to £100m for defenders Joao Cancelo and Aymeric Laporte. Doubts surround the future of both players at City, with Laporte down the pecking order and Cancelo having spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich after falling out of favour with Guardiola.
