Man City give double injury update on Ederson and Kevin De Bruyne before final day vs West Ham

Manchester City's momentous win at Tottenham might have come at a cost, with two of their most influential players now doubts for the final day clash with West Ham.

City beat Tottenham for the first time in the Premier League to put themselves on the verge of the title on the final day on Sunday. Stefan Ortega was the hero after replacing Ederson in the second half, with the German denying Heung-min Son who was put through on goal before City got their crucial second goal.

Ederson had been replaced after a nasty collision with Cristian Romero, with the Brazilian furious as he came off and looking tearful on the bench. Kevin De Bruyne had also been replaced after coming off second best in another poor challenge that kept him on the turf for a few minutes.

Guardiola said: "Kevin has a problem with his ankle. Ederson has a kick in the eye and it’s swollen. He couldn’t see properly. The doctor said I had to replace him. When the doctors say that I don’t have an alternative."

The manager also gave his verdict on Ederson's angry reaction to coming off as he kicked something in the technical area and argued with Guardiola.

"I understand, he wants to play. I understand," the boss said, while he also confirmed Ederson doesn't have concussion which raises hopes he could feature vs West Ham.
