Man City get double injury boost ahead of RB Leipzig as Kevin De Bruyne return date confirmed

Manchester City kicked off a hectic winter period with Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool and eyes are already on European football and Tuesday's Champions League tie against RB Leipzig.

Erling Haaland's first-half opener was cancelled out by Trent Alexander-Arnold as two Premier League title challengers shared the spoils at the weekend. Pep Guardiola's side dropped into second later on Saturday evening, following Arsenal's late win at Brentford.

City are top of their Champions League group and can secure a preferable draw for the knockout stages with a draw at home to Leipzig on Tuesday. The Blues have a 100 per cent record in Europe this season as they look to retain the famous trophy.

Injury boost

Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovacic were back in City training and could be in contention to return against Leipzig on Tuesday.

Grealish missed the weekend's draw with Liverpool through illness, while Kovacic and Matheus Nunes joined Kevin De Bruyne on the injury list. With a threadbare bench, Guardiola didn't make a substitution as City were held to a draw, but Grealish's return to training could offer a different option in the Champions League this week.
