Man City fans make Kevin de Bruyne Ballon d'Or claim after Newcastle win
Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne left supporters speechless after yet another remarkable display in their 5-0 thrashing of Newcastle United.
The Belgian, who was named man of the match, played a massive role in City's attacks and could have left the Etihad with a trio of assists, although he did set up Rodri's powerful header in the second half. Pep Guardiola's side shook off the disappointment of the midweek Champions League exit with an emphatic win over the Magpies to move three points clear in the Premier League title race.
They were buoyed by Liverpool's slip up against Tottenham Hotspur and they made them pay for their mishap with a comfortable win over the Magpies. Raheem Sterling scored twice in the rout with Aymeric Laporte, Rodri and Phil Foden adding to the scoreline.

But it was De Bruyne who was the standout, he made six key passes, created six big chances and had 91% passing accuracy.
In recent weeks, the 30-year-old has proved his quality in attacking areas by cropping up in the right areas and finding the back of the net. Against Eddie Howe's side, he played a different role in orchestrating the attacks on a successful afternoon at the Etihad.
City fans couldn't get enough of it. Here's how they reacted on Twitter.
