Man City face potential Premier League fixture chaos that would impact title race

Manchester City are continuing their quest for a back-to-back treble this weekend then they face Newcastle United.

City welcome Newcastle to the Etihad Stadium in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola's side beat Luton Town in the previous round to set up the clash against the Magpies this weekend.

The final weeks of the season will already see City compete to win the Premier League and the Champions League. After a historic treble nearly 12 months ago, Guardiola and Co. will be hoping to do so again with those two trophies, as well as the FA Cup.

However, victory for City over Newcastle this weekend would present a challenge to their Premier League schedule. A win on Saturday will see City book their spot in the FA Cup semi-final, which is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, April 20.

This day is also when City are scheduled to be in Premier League action against Tottenham Hotspur. City travel to North London in what will be one of the club's final league fixtures of the campaign.

If City beat Newcastle, then the game against Spurs will need to be rearranged. Due to City's involvement in the Champions League, this could prove to be a challenge for the schedule.

City are already guaranteed to be playing three midweeks throughout April. A Premier League game against Aston Villa awaits on April 3, while the following two weeks will be taken up by both legs of their Champions League quarter-final.
