Man City could be missing two players for Manchester United clash

Manchester City could be without Jack Grealish and Josko Gvardiol for the derby against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues head into the big game as favourites with Pep Guardiola's side challenging for the Premier League title. However, both teams come into the match off the back of midweek victories in the FA Cup.

Erling Haaland stole the show on Tuesday night as he scored five in a 6-2 victory over Luton Town. Then on Wednesday, the Reds squeezed past Nottingham Forest late on thanks to a Casemiro header.

Should City wish to continue their good run of form, they will need to do so without the services of Grealish. The winger came off early at Kenilworth Road with a recurrence of the groin issue which kept him sidelined earlier this season.

Speaking in his press conference, Guardiola confirmed the setback. "I don't think [he will be back before the internationals]," he explained.

"I haven't spoken to the doctors but I think he has to recover well to use him as much as possible. We have an alternative.

"Setbacks in life are always there, it is how you overcome them." Sunday may see the return of Gvardiol to the matchday squad.

The Croatian has not featured in the Premier League since the beginning of February after suffering an ankle ligament tear. Ahead of the trip to Luton, Guardiola said: "Josko is good.

"We train this afternoon (Monday) but he is training without much pain. He still hasn't trained with us but he's on the verge of coming back.
