Man charged with murder of Sadiq Al-lami in south Manchester

A teenager has been charged with murder following the death of a man in south Manchester. Sadiq Al-lami was injured during an incident on Kingsway, Parrs Wood, East Didsbury, in the early hours of Tuesday (January 23).

The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital, but tragically died a short time later. Noraiz Kamal, 18, of Highbank Drive, Manchester has been charged with murder. He will appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Friday (January 26).

Following his death, tributes were paid to Sadiq, described as a 'kind man' who 'touched the hearts of everyone'.

Known affectionately as 'Pitbull', Sadiq made an impression on many in the area during his short stint at TikTok famous chicken shop Miami Crispy.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a childhood friend, who asked not to be named, said: "I was with him that afternoon, we were talking and having general conversation and the next news I heard was what happened on Kingsway.

"He was so vibrant when I was with him. He was a good guy. If you were in a bad mood and bumped into him, I can guarantee you'd leave smiling.

"He was a very good guy. He'd help everyone out before he helped himself. He always checked in, he always asked how my kids were, my family. He always popped up wishing Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It's sad that whatever's happened has happened."

Sadiq, friends say, was given the name 'Pitbull' because of his 'short and stocky' stature and and his happy-go-lucky attitude. A friend added: "That's what I loved about him, he didn't care about anyone's opinion or if anybody was trying to put him down. He was always on top, no matter what stood in his way."
