Man charged with attempted murder following serious assault

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Newton Heath.

A 49-year-old woman was found critically injured in the garden of a property in Rosebank Road, Manchester, on Saturday (July 29).

Dean Johnstone, 42, of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder and assault. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday).

In a post on the GMP Manchester East Facebook page, officers said: "A man has been charged following reports of a serious assault in Rose Bank Road, Manchester at the weekend (29 July 2023).

"Dean Johnstone (22/05/81), of no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder and assault. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford magistrates court tomorrow (3 August 2023)."
