Man appears in court accused of killing university graduate in crash near city centre
A man has appeared in court accused of killing a university graduate in a crash at a pub near Manchester city centre.
Jabir Aba-Nur, now aged 25, appeared before Magistrates charged with causing death by dangerous driving in relation to a collision on July 18 2021.
Mr Aba-Nur, of Stamford Street, Old Trafford, is accused of crashing on Trinity Way, killing university graduate Farakh Akhtar, who was 23-years-old at the time.

Emergency services attended the scene of the crash and cordoned off Trinity Way between Chapel Street and Great Ducie Street amid investigations. Mr Aba-Nur was later arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He spoke only to confirm his name and address at the brief hearing on Thursday. No indication of plea was entered as he was released on unconditional bail before his next court appearance, at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square, on November 2.
