Man, 28, appears in court after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving following M62 crash

A man has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a driver by dangerous driving on the M62 near Greater Manchester. Shaun Tinsley has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while uninsured and causing death by driving while disqualified.

It follows a fatal collision on the eastbound carriageway of the M62 at around 3.45am on Saturday, April 29, near to junction 10 for the Croft Interchange. Tinsley, of Deysbrook Way, Liverpool, has also been charged with failing to stop following a collision, failing to report a collision and driving without insurance.

The 28-year-old was arrested in Mold, North Wales, at around 10.30am last Friday (May 5). He appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court the following day, where he was remanded in custody, and is next set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, June 5.

A 61-year-old man from the Wirral, who was involved in the collision, later died. Friends paid tribute to him following his death, with Mark Tetlow commenting: "I worked with him until he lost his life the other day.

"I just wanted to say he was a really nice guy and always friendly. I never heard him say a bad thing in all the time I worked with him, he was one of them people. We're all gutted."

Lisa Sweeney added: "Sending big love, caring thoughts to the gorgeous family. God bless RIP heavenly angel."

Two other men, aged 21 and 23, and a 17-year-old boy have also been arrested in relation to the crash. They have all been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries, Cheshire Police says.
