Malik Tillman turns Rangers hype man as Celtic derby clash branded a 'different level' from PSV grudge match

Former Rangers star Malik Tillman will play in a crunch showdown today for PSV Eindhoven against bitter rivals Feyenoord - but admits the rivalry is nowhere near the Old Firm.

The American international is on loan from Bayern Munich at the Dutch club, who are unbeaten in the Eredivisie this season and can effectively clinch the title with a win against nearest rivals Feyenoord who are 11 points behind them. Tillman was a big player for the Ibrox side last season, but the deal to make the loan to Scottish football become permanent collapsed last summer after the German giants had a rethink about his future and sent him to the Eredivisie with Rangers'' Champions League conquerors PSV instead.

The 21-year-old played in five Old Firm derbies last season, but he lost four of them and drew the other one and was subbed off in all five games. But the memories of the games will live with him forever. Tillman said: "Old Firm games? Wow!

"I remember a lot of tension. Unfortunately, we didn't win one when I played for Rangers, but it was a great experience.

"After the first match against Celtic, away fans were no longer allowed. Then you played in a stadium that was completely against you. If you scored, no one cheered.

"The games were madness, something completely unique. With PSV we have a rivalry with Feyenoord, but in Glasgow, it's on a different level. It's about different things too because when the supporters of the two clubs fight with each other, then it also concerns matters like religion for example."
