Major road shut after serious crash as 40 mile diversion put in place

A serious crash on the A55 has closed the road completely in one direction. The collision has taken place between Penmaenmawr and Conwy.

The road remains closed eastbound from J16 Puffin Roundabout Penmaenbach Headland to J17 Conwy following the serious collision, and is expected to stay shut for some time. A huge 40-mile diversion is in place, with motorists asked to follow the signed diversion via the A55 J11, A5 and A470 before re-joining at J19.
