A major road in Swansea is closed after a "serious collision". South Wales Police is currently at the scene of the incident on Oystermouth Road in the city centre.

The route is closed from the junction of Princess Way heading out of the city centre. The force has urged motorists to avoid the area. Traffic maps show heavy congestion in the area.

South Wales Police said in a statement on social media at 3.20pm: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Oystermouth Road, Swansea City Centre. The road is closed from the junction of Princess Way heading out of city centre. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible."
