Major road closed in both directions and long delays expected after crash - live updates
There are long delays due to a collision on the A40 in Monmouthshire.
Gwent Police has confirmed that emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A40, with both directions closed between Mitchell Troy and Monmouth.
Traffic monitoring service, Inrix, has noted that the A40 eastbound and westbound are closed with long delays due to the accident.
Its traffic update reads: "The A40 Eastbound closed, long delays due to accident from A449 ( Raglan Interchange, Raglan ) to B4293 Cinderhill Street (Gibraltar Tunnels, Monmouth).
"The Westbound side is also closed but from the Gibraltar Tunnels to where traffic joins from Mitchel Troy for air ambulance."
Meanwhile, the traffic monitoring service's update for A40 westbound reads: "The A40 Westbound closed, long delays due to an accident on the other side from B4293 (Gibraltar Tunnels, Monmouth) to Mitchel Troy (Mitchel Troy).
"The Westbound side is closed from Gibraltar Tunnels to where traffic joins from Mitchel Troy to assist with the accident on the opposite side, for air ambulance.
"The Eastbound side is closed from the Raglan Interchange to the Gibraltar Tunnels."
