Major congestion after 'four-car' collision on M66 Northbound

There is heavy traffic on a major Greater Manchester motorway following a 'four-car' collision this evening. Police, fire crews and ambulance have descended upon the M66 at junction 3, Bury.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that four vehicles have been involved in a collision. It is not known if there are any serious injuries, the force said.

All lanes were closed between junction 4 and junction 3. Traffic is slowly being allowed to go past the scene of the incident, but there are 'long tailbacks', North West Motorway Police have said.
