Maidstone United sign former Millwall forward Nana Boateng after successful trial

Maidstone United have signed former Millwall youngster Nana Boateng following his departure from Sutton United.

Boateng, who can play anywhere across the forward line, has joined the Stones after impressing on trial at the Gallagher Stadium this summer.

“Nana has been outstanding throughout pre-season,” said Stones boss Craig Fagan. “From the first session he came in with a brilliant attitude and a real willingness to learn, and he’s worked incredibly hard every single day.

“He’s got real pace, he’s exciting in one-on-one situations and he’s shown a hunger to improve every time he’s stepped on to the pitch. More importantly, he’s fitted into the group straight away and embodies the standards we’re setting as a club.

“This isn’t a signing based on potential alone - it’s one he’s earned. His performances over the summer have convinced us he’s ready to make a real impact, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue his development in a Maidstone United shirt.”

Boateng, 23, came through Millwall’s academy, making his first-team debut in an FA Cup tie against Crystal Palace in 2022.

His time at the Den included a loan spell with Solihull Moors, appearing at Wembley in the National League play-off final and FA Trophy final.

Moors finished runners-up in both, although Boateng scored from the spot as their play-off final against Bromley went to penalties.

A move to Sutton followed two years ago and last season he gained National League South experience on loan at Hemel Hempstead and Hampton & Richmond.
