M62 LIVE updates as motorway reopens following crash

The M62 has reopened following an earlier crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the eastbound motorway between junctions 24 for Huddersfield and 25 for Brighouse in West Yorkshire at around 10pm. Motorists heading east were diverted off at junction 24, before being sent on a five mile route to rejoin the motorway at junction 25.

In a statement National Highways said: "The M62 in West Yorkshire is closed eastbound between J24 (Huddersfield) and J25 (Brighouse) due to a collision. Emergency services including West Yorkshire Police are in attendance.

"National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene to assist with traffic management."

The motorway reopened at around 11.30pm.

The M62 has reopened eastbound between J24 and J25 following an earlier crash. Lane one remains closed for recovery and clear-up.
