Live M6 traffic updates tonight as serious crash in Cheshire leaves motorway closed
The M6 is closed in Cheshire due to a 'serious' crash tonight (Monday, March 24). The southbound carriageway is shut to traffic between Junction 17 (Sandbach) and Junction 16 (Crewe/Stoke-on-Trent).
The incident was first reported shortly before 7pm. Delays are expected as a result of the closure and emergency services are at the scene.
A National Highways spokesperson said: "The M6 between J17 Sandbach and J16 Crewe is closed due a serious collision. Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service are working at scene."

The M6 is closed between J17 Sandbach and J16 Crewe. Trapped traffic is currently being released via lane 4 (of 4).
There is congestion of approx. 2 miles on approach to the closure."
