M62 LIVE: Motorway shut amid coach fire with huge delays and queues - latest updates
Huge queues are building on a stretch of the M62 motorway this afternoon amid a coach fire.
The eastbound side of the motorway has been fully closed off between junction 23 and junction 24 near Huddersfield this afternoon. This is due to a coach fire, National Highways said.
Emergency crews are on the scene. There are currently long delays of more than an hour, with traffic queuing for at least five miles up to the closure.

In a post on X, National Highways said: "The #M62 is CLOSED eastbound between J23 and J24 near #Huddersfield due to a coach fire. @WYFRS are on scene.
"There are currently delays of 70 mins and approx. 5 miles of congestion. More info to follow."

One lane remains shut from J23 to J24.
According to our colleages at Yorkshire Live, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that no injuries were reported in the coach fire.
In a statement, the fire service said:
"We were called at 11.16 this morning to reports of a large vehicle on fire on the Eastbound carriage of the M62 at junction23/24.
"We sent three crews, Huddersfield, Rastrick and Slaithwaite.
""Crews extinguished the fire and are leaving the scene – no reports on our log of any injuries."
Two lanes have been reopened but one lane remains shut between J23 and J24.
